Skilltego Terms of Use

Skilltego is a place to show what you can do and get discovered for it. Through the Service you can build a profile, share posts, photos, videos, reels, stories, code and projects, follow and message other members, make audio and video calls, discover and apply for jobs, internships, competitions, events and scholarships, book sessions with mentors, and earn Skill Coins and badges.

We are always improving Skilltego, so we may add, change or remove features at any time. Where a change significantly affects how you use the Service, we will try to let you know in advance.

We want Skilltego to be safe and open to people who are building their skills. To use it, you must:

• be at least 13 years old;
• if you are under 18, have the permission of your parent or legal guardian (see below);
• not be barred from using the Service under any law that applies to you;
• not have had an account disabled by us for violating these Terms or our policies, unless we have given you permission to create a new one; and
• not be a convicted sex offender.

Users under 18. Under Indian law, a person under 18 is a child. If you are between 13 and 17, you may use Skilltego only if your parent or legal guardian has read and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy on your behalf. By allowing you to use Skilltego, your parent or guardian accepts these Terms and is responsible for your use of the Service. We may ask for confirmation of that consent at any time and may suspend an account until it is confirmed.

Organisations. If you create a company, college or other organisation account, you confirm that you are authorised to act for that organisation and to accept these Terms on its behalf.

• Give accurate, up-to-date information about yourself and keep it current.
• Keep your password secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, so tell us straight away at teach@teachgrow.in if you think someone else has access to it.
• Don't create an account for someone else without their permission, and don't buy, sell, rent or transfer any account or username.
• Don't create new accounts to get around a suspension or other enforcement action.

We may change or reclaim a username if it infringes someone else's rights, impersonates someone, or otherwise breaks these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It forms part of these Terms.

In return for our commitment to provide the Service, we need you to agree that you will not:

• impersonate anyone or give false information, including fake profiles, fake qualifications or credentials, or fake job, internship or scholarship listings;
• do anything unlawful, misleading or fraudulent, or use the Service for any illegal purpose;
• break these Terms, our Community Guidelines or any other policy that applies to the Service;
• post or share any content described in section 6;
• harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, or send unwanted messages, calls or spam;
• ask any member to pay money in exchange for a job, internship, interview, admission or placement;
• interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by hacking, introducing malware, overloading our systems, or getting around any security or access control;
• access or collect information from the Service by automated means (such as bots, scrapers or crawlers) without our prior written permission, or access data you are not authorised to access;
• collect, sell or share other members' personal information, or use it for anything other than the purpose for which it was shared with you;
• copy, modify, translate, create derivative works of, decompile or reverse-engineer the Service, except where the law expressly allows it;
• record or share someone else's calls or private messages without their consent; or
• misuse our reporting, appeal or grievance channels, for example by making false reports.

In line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you must not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or share any information on Skilltego that:

• belongs to another person and which you have no right to share;
• is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic; invades another person's privacy, including bodily privacy; insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender; is racially or ethnically objectionable; relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling; or promotes enmity between groups on the grounds of religion or caste with the intent to incite violence;
• is harmful to children;
• infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
• deceives or misleads anyone about where a message came from, or knowingly and intentionally communicates misinformation or information that is patently false, untrue or misleading;
• impersonates another person;
• threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, India's friendly relations with foreign States, or public order; incites the commission of any cognisable offence; prevents the investigation of any offence; or insults any other nation;
• contains software viruses or any other code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource; or
• violates any law in force.

We may remove such content or disable access to it, and where you don't comply with these rules we may suspend or terminate your account immediately. We act on court orders and lawful directions from the government within the timelines the law requires. Content that shows a person in a sexual act or conduct, exposes their private areas, shows them fully or partially nude, or impersonates them (including artificially morphed images) will be removed within 24 hours of a complaint from that person or someone acting for them.

You own your content. We don't claim ownership of anything you post. You are responsible for your content and must have the rights needed to share it.

Licence to operate the Service. When you share, post or upload content protected by intellectual property rights (such as photos, videos, code, documents or designs) on or in connection with the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide licence to host, store, use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly display, translate and create derivative works of that content (for example, compressed versions, thumbnails and previews), in a way that respects your privacy and visibility settings. We use this licence only to operate, provide and improve the Service. It ends when your content is deleted from our systems, except where your content has been shared by others with your permission and they have not deleted it, and for backup copies kept for a limited time as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your name and activity. You allow us to show your name, username, profile photo and information about your actions (such as likes, follows, comments and applications) alongside content and features on the Service, without payment to you.

App updates. You agree that we may download and install updates to the Service on your device.

Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

The Skilltego name, logo, design, software and other materials we provide are owned by TeachGrow LLP or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Service in line with these Terms. You may not use our trademarks or logos without our prior written permission.

If you believe content on Skilltego infringes your copyright or trademark, email teach@teachgrow.in with: your contact details; a description of the work or mark; a link to the content you are reporting; and a statement that you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner, and that the information you have given is accurate. We handle these reports in line with the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, and may remove content and disable repeat infringers' accounts.

• Skill Coins, levels, streaks and badges are virtual rewards for taking part in the community. They have no monetary value, are not money or property, and cannot be bought, sold, transferred, or exchanged for cash or anything of value, unless we expressly offer a way to redeem them under separate terms.
• We may change how rewards are earned or displayed, correct balances that are wrong, and remove rewards earned through abuse (for example fake accounts, spam, bots, or liking or following for coins).
• Rewards are lost if your account is deleted or terminated.

• Jobs, internships, competitions, events and scholarships are posted by companies, colleges and other members, not by us. We don't verify every poster or listing, and we are not an employer, recruiter, placement agency or party to any agreement between members. We don't guarantee any job, admission, outcome, or the quality of any mentoring session.
• Never pay anyone to get a job or internship through Skilltego. Genuine opportunities don't charge candidates. Please report any such request.
• A verification badge means we checked certain information at the time we granted it. It is not an endorsement.
• You are responsible for your interactions with other members, online and offline. Take care when sharing personal information or meeting anyone in person.

The Service may let you sign in with Google or GitHub, or may link to other websites and services. Your use of those is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

We may remove or restrict content, and may suspend or permanently disable accounts, if we believe they break these Terms, our policies or the law, if the law requires us to, or if it is needed to protect our members, the public or Skilltego from harm or legal risk. Where we can, we will tell you what action we took and why, unless the law prevents us or doing so would put someone at risk or compromise an investigation.

If you think we made a mistake, contact our Grievance Officer (see section 18). If you are not satisfied with the Grievance Officer's decision, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India at gac.gov.in within 30 days of receiving that decision.

You can stop using Skilltego at any time and delete your account from Settings → Delete account (or see how to delete your account). Sections 7 (to the extent described there), 9, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 20 continue to apply after your account ends.

When you delete your account, your profile, posts, media, messages and other content are removed from the Service. Some information may remain for a limited time, for example in backups, or where we are required to keep it by law, to resolve disputes, or to prevent fraud and abuse. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

We work hard to keep Skilltego running smoothly and safely, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't control, and are not responsible for, what members and other people post, say or do, and we don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TeachGrow LLP, its partners, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunities, arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service (including the conduct of other members or third parties), even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of ₹1,000 or the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless TeachGrow LLP, its partners, employees and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your content, or your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian accepts this obligation on your behalf.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a concern, please contact us first; most issues can be resolved quickly through our Grievance Officer (section 18). Subject to that, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you can contact our Grievance Officer about any complaint relating to the Service, including content that you believe breaks section 6, or any action we have taken on your content or account:

Please include your name and contact details, a link to the content or account concerned, and a clear description of your complaint with any supporting documents. We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receiving it. Complaints about intimate or impersonating content described in section 6 are acted on within 24 hours.

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Skilltego after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account at any time.

• These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any earlier agreements.
• If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in full effect. If we don't enforce any part of these Terms, that is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
• You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
• We are not responsible for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
• These Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version will prevail in case of any conflict.
